The power windows on my VY commodore close normally but do not open unless the swith is held down for a full five seconds.. I have checked / swapped the relay and bench tested the switches. The problem seems to be with the BCM and I suspect related to the auto-down function. Tried to re-set the BCM by disconnecting the (-) battery terminal but this did not make any difference.

Appreciate any advice... drinks.gif

Havn't had that one before, mate.
Are all the switches effected and are they lit before using?
BCM won't reset from battery. Try the main or fuel pump fuses under the bonnet. dry.gif

Same problem both sides.. switches are lit.. I tried pulling the BMC and fuel pump fuses under the bonnet.. no luck. should I leave the fuse out for a while? does it take any time to re-set?

thanks..

Yeah normally leave for 10-30 secs. You could swap a BCM with another vehicle of the same model and luxury level just to test the windows but the vehicle will not start, nor will the door locks work with the remote.
Good just to eliminate a possiblity tho. cool.gif

No worries, mate.
BCM is under the dash to the RH side of the steering column.
The connectors are very tight to remove so don't give up easily! wink.gif

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem with the power windows on my VY - will only go down if you hold it down for about 7 seconds. I too was guessing it'd have something to do with the auto down function not working properly.

Have you had any luck yet with yours?
