Hello all;

I am new here, I used to own a 2000 VT Exec Gen 3 6 spd sedan. It was a good car. I sold it for a hilux. Now I am looking at a 1999 VS ute V8 5 lt with 180k on the clock.

Any and all information on this car would be appreciated. I have heard that the 5 lt will out perform the gen 3 with mods, in a final out come senario. Information on engine mods would be great. Car reliability, model faults and issues and what to look for. Im looking at spending 8-9k to buy then some on mods to get me started. Does any one know how many k's this donk usually gets rebuilt at? Diff issues? Gear box issues? Over time I might consider making something of the car, but not sure its worth it.

Once again, any and all advice is appreciated.

Cheers

Jackson

Hey mate.
The VS 5.0L V8 is a 304cc block. The Gen III is a 346cc. Ultimately the bigger the better.
The VS series 3 5.0L engine is almost the same as the VT 5.0L.
A 5.0L with a rear main seal leak will cost you an engine out job.
There's a start for yah mate. drinks.gif
