Hi. It's late I know, but I'm finally motivated to put some decent sound into my VS Acclaim. I've got some info from the forum on replacing the head unit etc, and I've designed lots of pro audio gear over the years, but I'm a newbie with car mods, and the rear parcel shelf seems to be a good place to start as it's just a few layers of thin metal and press-board with woefully inadequate stiffness, sealing and damping. Once I have a good 4-speaker system, I'll review whether I need a sub and amp. For now, though (remember I'm a newbie)....

How can I get the top off the parcel shelf, and access to the metal and speakers?

What's the most economical way to get a wiring diagram, workshop manual or other tech documentation for a VS Acclaim (PDF form would be great)?

Cheers, Tony

Hey mate.
The parcel shelf will come out once the rear seats are removed and a couple of retaining trim clips are yanked away.
Remove the rear lower seat and unbolt the upper seats and remove. If you have 3 piece upper seats, just fold down the centre one.
There will be a couple of trim clips and maybe a child restraint bolt holding the shelf down.
I don't think I have ever removed one from a VS but that'll point you close enough.
I can't help you with the wiring diagrams as I don't work at a Dealership any more.
PDF is great and that's what our computers were set up for but copying them I have never tried.
I'm not sure how good the Gregory type auto manuals are for wiring diagrams. dry.gif
What are you mainly after? Head unit wiring or other stuff? Perhaps try one of the insanely large car forums. wink.gif

Thanks - I'll try that tomorrow. I'm mainly after wiring info, for audio and other enhancements, and to fix minor electrical problems (still have indicators that only work when I take the car in to be fixed).
