Gday, looking at buying a vy11 ss wagon, and wondering what the differences are from the series 1.Are all ss motors 245kw. 17's appear to be standard although 18's are mentioned by holden as standard? Are the 6sp manuals all BW T56. Also what comes with the special edition wagon. Any help is greatly appreciated

I think the VY SS wheels were the first to come out 18". Utes were a size smaller but not sure about the wagons.
Never saw many come though the workshop. Reasonabley rare...
Gen III power out put has changed a bit over the years. I'll give it a go...
VT II - 220kw
VX - 225kw
VY - 235kw (high output 245kw) Different exhaust.
The Gen III was de-tuned through mostly the exhaust. Fit a full system and hav an LS1 edit performed and then you've got real power! Won't matter then. cool.gif

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Ive noticed some of the engine covers are different. One appears to have 2 separate covers over the valves with the banana style inlet in the middle and the other has the older ninja turtle cover. Would the former be the high output 245 and the latter the 235?

To be honest mate, I'm not sure.
The later engines went to the seperate covers. Any one can purchase genuine or non-gen engine covers.
Like I said before, you'll get the same power with the performance mods. cool.gif

Cheers Kordorn, Looks like I'm going to the bank tomorrow. I see your point, so maybe I'll get a little extra for the mods. Big Grin !
